I recently did a video job for a client who wanted to include some nature footage that emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship. My client is keenly interested in protecting our air, water and other natural resources. I could easily have found some stock footage to fit the need. Or, better yet, I could simple plug in a portable hard drive with footage I captured in 2017 that was perfect for this project.
The lesson I learned? NEVER get rid of old footage (images, copy, graphics). Storage is incredibly cheap. You never know when you may have the perfect asset just a click or two away on your own device.
